This site is operated by the San Diego County Regional Occupational Program
in under a contract with California State Department of Education, Secondary,
Postsecondary and Adult Leadership Division, using funds from the Carl D.
Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998.
The purpose of this site is to provide you with information and links to other
sites about the subject of Nontraditional Careers and Occupations.
The term Nontraditional Careers refers to jobs that have been traditionally
filled by one gender. The US Department of Labor defines Nontraditional Occupations
as occupations for which individuals from one gender comprise less than 25%
of the individuals employed in each such occupation.
If you want more detailed information about nontraditional careers and perhaps
earn college credit, we encourage you to enroll in our on-line courses Nontrad
101 and Nontrad 102. All course
content is available online at no cost with no permission required for their
use. You will be required to login to use the course content. If you need an

Certificates of Completion are also available for educators pursuing professional
development hours.
